(Madrid) La prostitución como salida a la crisis

La actual situación económica que padece España no hace posible encontrar con facilidad un puesto de trabajo. Es por ello que muchas mujeres españolas se están viendo ‘obligadas’ a ejercer uno de los oficios más antiguos: la prostitución.

Hasta ahora los locales de alterne estaban copados en su mayoría por mujeres de nacionalidad rumana, brasileña o paraguaya. Dejaban su país para tener una vida mejor. Ahora estas meretrices tienen que compartir su trabajo con españolas que en el pasado se dedicaron a la prostitución y que, de nuevo, por falta de recursos, tienen que regresar a ella.

En torno al 10% de las mujeres que atiende la ONG Médicos del Mundo son españolas, seguidas de las de origen latinoamericano, Europa del Este y África subsahariana. Por si no fuera traumática su vuelta a la prostitución, muchas de ellas se ven obligadas a rebajar el precio de los servicios que ofrecen e incluso son forzadas por los clientes a practicar sexo sin medidas de protección. A pesar de esta realidad, pocas mujeres españolas han caído en redes de explotación sexual, pudiendo ejercer la prostitución libremente sin ser coaccionadas.

No por ello deja de ser preocupante el número de casos de mujeres explotadas sexualmente. La Policía Nacional, en los cinco primeros meses de este año, rescató a más de 150 aunque ninguna era de nacionalidad española. En cambio, entre los detenidos sí hay españoles, aunque la mayor parte de arrestados proceden de Rumanía.

Your desire to control women’s bodies is sickening. The painstaking effort you are taking on legislation to choke our right to choose from the outside, all the while cutting funding from institutions that actually matter would be absurd—if it weren’t so immediately dangerous to our lives and futures.

As men who wish to be called men, you have no role in the abortion debate other than to unquestioningly support women in whatever choice they might choose to make. Politicians, we are not your daughters, and even if we were you have no right to compromise our futures with one stroke of your patriarchal pen. Boyfriends, lovers, flings, sex buddies and men we knew for a night, this is not your choice. It is ours. We will figure it out. Trust us.

A Somali Islamist militant group is offering rewards of chickens and camels for information on the whereabouts of the US president, Barack Obama, and secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, mocking the millions of dollars the United States has offered for leaders of the al-Qaida affiliate.

“Whoever reveals the hideout of the idiot Obama will be rewarded with 10 camels, and whoever reveals the hideout of the old woman Hillary Clinton will be rewarded with 10 chickens and 10 roosters,” he said, according to SITE.
